A 55 acre farm property located in Gorey Wexford with an AMV of €440,000, sold at for €780,000, €340,000 above the guide price.
The price reflects continued growth in the agriculture sector that has seen the average farm income in Ireland increased by 48% in 2010 driven by global demand for agri products.
The World Bank estimates the expanding global middle class is likely to grow from 430 million in 2000 to 1.2 billion people by 2030. China and India will lead the demand with these two countries accounting for 66% of the demand for meat protein and dairy products. (19 May 2011)
